Privacy policy

The plain version: this is a read-only guide site. We don't run accounts, we don't sell data, and we collect as little as possible. Last updated: October 2026.

What is collected when you visit

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (pages visited, browser type, approximate location from your IP address) for security and basic traffic counting. We use those logs to see which guides people actually read, so we can write more of them.

Cookies and affiliate links

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. When you click an affiliate link — for example to Amazon or a booking service — that company may set a cookie on your device so the referral can be credited to us. Those cookies are governed by that company's own privacy policy (for Amazon, see amazon.com's privacy notice). Affiliate cookies never change the price you pay.

What we never do

Your choices

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works exactly the same. If you'd like to know what a server log holds about your visit, ask via our contact form and we'll help where we reasonably can.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
